Why Does the WhatsApp Web QR Code Fail?
When you open WhatsApp Web, the QR code must load properly and be scanned by your device. If it doesn’t appear, refreshes repeatedly, or fails to scan — these causes are most likely:
- Browser cache or outdated browser
- Extensions blocking scripts
- Low brightness or glare issues
- Dirty or unfocused camera lens
- Poor internet connection
- Incorrect device time
- VPN or proxy interference
Fix 1: Refresh the QR Code & Clear Browser Cache
Press Ctrl + R or refresh manually.
If still not loading:
- Clear cache and cookies
- Close and reopen browser
- Disable extensions temporarily
Fix 2: Disable Browser Extensions
AdBlock, uBlock, Ghostery etc. can block QR generation.
- Disable blocking extensions
- Use Incognito Mode
- If QR works in Incognito → extension is the issue
Fix 3: Increase Screen Brightness
Low brightness can prevent your phone camera from recognizing the QR pattern.
- Increase brightness
- Clean camera lens
- Avoid glare or reflections
Fix 4: Update Browser
Old browsers fail to load WhatsApp Web properly. Install latest Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari.
Fix 5: Fix Camera Permissions
WhatsApp needs camera access to scan QR.
- Go to phone settings → Apps → WhatsApp → Permissions
- Enable Camera access
- Restart WhatsApp
Fix 6: Check Internet
Both devices need active internet for login.
Fix 7: Relink Devices
Open WhatsApp → Linked Devices → Log out all → Scan QR again.
